I can't do math unless my feelings are addressed first... I feel like this is too much and I won't even begin to think about math problems until I feel better! Mmm...
A Look Inside the Textbooks That Florida Rejected

After the Florida Department of Education rejected dozens of math textbooks last week, the big question was, Why?
Well...many of the textbooks included social-emotional learning content, a practice with roots in psychological research that tries to help students develop mindsets that can support academic success.
Mmm, a practice with roots in psychological research to help develop mindsets... sounds like a project for social engineering, monarch mind control strategy.
One example from marketing materials provided by the company Big Ideas Learning — whose elementary textbooks Florida rejected — features one common way teachers are trained to think about social-emotional learning.
Again, sounds like a project for social engineering and mind control.
A circular diagram names the five core skills students should develop: self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, social awareness and relationship building. This framework was developed by CASEL, an education nonprofit.
Ok, a framework for what? For the social engineering project as proposed by psychological research to make it sound legitimate and then to be developed by an NGO... what is that about, right? What standards are they required to follow? And, Whose NGO?
Until recently, the idea of building social-emotional skills
was a fairly uncontroversial one in American education. Research suggests that
students with these skills earn higher test scores. ~ Not proven
But right-wing activists like Chris Rufo, senior fellow at
the Manhattan Institute, have sought to tie social-emotional learning to the
broader debate over the teaching of race, gender and sexuality in classrooms. ~ Necessary
In a March interview conducted over email, Rufo stated that
while social-emotional learning sounds “positive and uncontroversial” in
theory, “in practice, SEL serves as a delivery mechanism for radical pedagogies
such as critical race theory and gender deconstructionism.” ~ Agree.
Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida has spoken more generally about
social-emotional learning as a distraction, in his view, from math itself. ~ Agree
“Math is about getting the right answer,” he said at a
Monday news conference, adding, “It’s not about how you feel about the
problem.” ~ Agree
Stephanie M. Jones, a developmental psychologist and expert on social-emotional learning at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, disagreed.
“Feelings arise all the time — they arise when we’re doing work at our offices, and when kids are learning things,” she said. “It makes sense to try and engage those feelings or grapple with them in order to be more effective at the thing we’re doing.”
Say what??? While that is true, feelings arise all the time. There is a time and place for feelings to be dealt with and its not in the classroom, or in the office. This kind of tripe as a reasonable argument for SEL just grossly magnifies a lack of existing emotional stability. Where does that start? At home. Sadly, many American homes are broken by divorce and general ignorance of appropriate learned social roles in the home starting with father, mother and children, and in that order.
If this kind of thinking takes hold in the classrooms, society will collapse and become an idiocracy in a very short amount of time. But, that's probably what the politicians who serve the global power elites have been programmed or paid to do. After all, its about staying in power. So, the goal is to achieve a dumbed down (manageable controlled) servant society and even that will be a select one. And, I mean hand picked for certain physical qualities... not smart, not wise, not clever... just obedient and unaware of their conditioned obedience.
Now, you should ask is that the real agenda here... is it about addressing feelings, is it about dumbing down America? Well, its not about feelings as in your personal feelings and its not about dumbing you into a total moron. Its more about shaping you into a certain kind of voter... And, its about certain agendas that politicians and their minions have with the aims of keeping them in office and putting and keeping you in your place. So, it is about obedience, isn't it?
