Exploring the Social Imagination

Say What ... "Woke" an American Subculture in the Social Imagination?

As a sociologist, I am a keen observer of the 'woke' society. That is, I observe, using with a trained eye, the social behavior of the masses. The best observations are first hand of course; but, its also acceptable to watch television sitcoms, the news, or look at family photos and selfies posted on Facebook etc.

And, its gets really interesting when you observe large numbers of people (creating groups) across the nation doing things or some things that once were considered improper or unacceptable or representative of treasonous behavior as belong to Nazism and or Communism.

Now, back in the day, this was usually called - forming deviant behaviors. Such deviance was largely due to dysfunctional development somewhere along the line and or criminal predispositions.

Now, to put it more gently... perhaps, we could recognize such forming deviant groups as curiously appearing subcultures. A smallish group of people (not tiny) that start to act/live according to their own drum beat so to speak... and suddenly it catches on as it strangely makes a favorable impression on the ignorant and or poorly socialized and educated. We will call them the 'woke'.

Ironically, they haven't been woke to anything except mediocrity, slobbery, entitlements, laziness, ignorance; and moreover, what they think it means to be a thinking, logical, rational, intelligent, wise, conservative and properly educated individual is hogwash because they are 'woke' to all that...

Leaving that aside 'woke', let's look at what the experts say about subcultures. Well... subculture theory was first developed by sociology scholars at the Chicago School in the 1920s. The Chicago School explored the existence of deviant behavior and discussed deviance as a product of social problems within society.

Basically, according to them (the woke as a subculture), the only real social problems are with people who think that God exists, who appeal to just laws and rules, realize that property tax are necessary, that take a stand for life in the womb, that vote in a republic because it really is representative of democratic government and capitalism does stand for the free market.

Not only that, the woke subculture also has a problem with the course of history as its been written, they don't really understand science though they applaud it as a god. They don't realize that science is only what men make of it, they don't know that libraries do exist for all citizens to use, and they are totally unaware that there is enough food to go around, that skin color is only skin deep, that animals are not people and real people can't pretend to be animals. Obesity is a disease and its therefore not healthy.

Unfortunately, even though a small number of sociologists’ continue to study subcultures in order to uncover why subcultures form, why subculturists choose to engage in deviant group behavior, and what subcultural activity can tell us about society as a whole, the woke subculture completely rejects this and says its not reflective of what is really going on.

Denial of Entropy in the Social Imagination in Context of Evolution...

The Hamster Wheel | elainesphilosophythoughts

Entropy is simply a measure of disorder and affects all aspects of our daily lives. In fact, you can think of it as nature's tax. Left unchecked disorder increases over time. Energy disperses, and systems dissolve into chaos.

The second law of thermodynamics says that the entropy of any isolated system always increases. Isolated systems spontaneously evolve towards thermal equilibrium—the state of maximum entropy of the system. More simply put: the entropy of the universe (the ultimate isolated system) only increases and never decreases.

A simple way to think of the second law of thermodynamics is that a room, if not cleaned and tidied, will invariably become more messy and disorderly with time – regardless of how careful one is to keep it clean. When the room is cleaned, its entropy decreases, but the effort to clean it has resulted in an increase in entropy outside the room that exceeds the entropy lost.

Now, do we live in an entropic universe? Yes...  Because, according to most 'non-creationist' physicists, our universe most likely started out as a singularity which is an infinitesimally small, ordered point of energy that ballooned out (Big Bang), and continues expanding all the time, entropy is constantly growing in our universe because there's more space and therefore more potential states of disorder for the atoms here.

Now, this brings us to our discussion of the denial of entropy in the Social Imagination in context of the concept of evolution. You see, evolutionists think that something can evolve in an entropic universe. The denial is of course in light of the truth which is that man was created by a Creator... man is a created being.

Now, man as an information reality, a created program came into contact with error and thus in this larger mainframe we call earth, we are subject to corruption - entropy. All living things like man are subject to entropy and including all things made or manufactured in this 'fallen world': cars, buildings, computers, machines, and vaxeens.

Man recognizes entropy simply by observing it. Hence, he strives to escape it, run away from it... why? Because, inherently man knows that its a result of error. Man desires or prefers an eternal state of being, the state he was created to be in. This truth is written on man's heart.

You see, if we were to agree with evolution, an evolving man has to run even faster in an entropic universe because his own entropic system is competing against the disorder at hand of the much larger entropic system he is supposedly evolving in. And, supposedly, according evolutionists, this is what drives man to run faster, to seek solutions to his dilemmas which appear on every new horizon (dawn) in this entropic universe.

In fact, denial is an aspect of his running faster. Man denies what he observes in order to  feel some sort of success in his constant attempt to run away from entropy and also to run away from the fact that he is a created being. Why? Because, the fundamental anxiety in an entropic universe is the fear of death.

Now, how does the concept of evolution make man feel better? Isn't it obvious? It should be. But, I will tell you anyway. Man thinks that he is getting better... to the point of thinking he is increasing both in physical and mental capabilities. He determines this by 'Olympic' measures of mind and body achievements and delivers this as truth by publishing how we discover 'new' things, go to 'new' places where man never set foot. And, in that he thinks he has overcome this fallen world... his constant running away from entropy.

There will always be someone new to take up where the previous man left off. That may have some truth but its not due to evolution folks. Its due to man's being a created being; though is program has corruption in it... the entire program is not ruined.

Whether man, the evolutionist or creationist, realizes it or not, he/she spends most of his/her life trying to escape a faulty program. For sure, the later (creationist) knows it.  The later, the creationist, recognizes the Creator and embraces that truth and faces the fundamental anxiety without fear.

The creationist knows that an upload is coming in recognizing the upgrade and that death in a fallen world, corrupt social imagination, is the only way out. While the evolutionist will constantly run to escape entropy like a hamster in a wheel ..always feeling like its going somewhere but in an entropic universe it just runs down.  You see, the creationist is always at rest, always at peace.
